Re: Please Remove 2nd Notice |
Please remove the following:
http://www.archive.org/details/DeepRed_16-9The widescreen print above is of Dario Argento's slightly longer director's cut of Deep Red which usually has English subtitles. This particular cut of the film is not PD since it contains a valid copyright notice in the opening credits. All the other prints(the full screen PD prints) posted on IA are fine since they are not a copyrighted version w/a valid copyright notice in the film's credits.

Re: Please Remove 2nd Notice |
Whoa, Calm down there... no offense, but the admins here are volunteers only. Don't expect them to do everything you ask immediately when you want it done. I think you are capable of waiting a day or so. On that note, I uploaded Deep Red not realizing that some versions were under copyright. I have removed the files and now the identifier should also be removed.
Sorry about that. And hopefully I didn't offend you.

Re: Please Remove 2nd Notice |
It's not a matter of offending me or not and it's all good saying that the admins are all volunteers, but I don't think you understand that lots of copyrighted material has been uploaded here. I've even helped weed out quite a bit when I first signed up,but more of it has popped up. I am calm and I didn't mean that post as an attack. I just care about the IA because it was my understanding that all of the films and TV shows here are in the public domain. I'd hate to see the IA get sued for copyright infringement as some others here have said and are afraid might happen.

Re: Please Remove 2nd Notice |
I know. I did notice that a lot of copyrighted movies (mainly 70's movies with valid notices...) have been uploaded recently and moved, most without move requests. But yeah, hopefully the archive gets some of this stuff figured out. It was bad enough when it was only wrestling and anime that got uploaded. Now it's movies that are hard(er) to determine copyright status.
but yeah, here's hoping that they get some of these problems resolved.

Re: Please Remove 2nd Notice |
They will that Marilyn Monroe film got removed. The person who uploaded it gave a link to another site where it came from. Some of the films on there were PD ones that are already here, but there were quite a few that were either not in the public domain or I seriously doubted were PD.
